Alaskan Malamute    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered

Hello, I'm Vega, a four year old purebred Alaskan Malamute. My owner is moving to New York, so I am looking for a new home, preferably one with a yard where I can run and play. I am a big guy, so I eat 4-5 cups of food per day. I know basic commands, such as sit, shake, stay, speak, quiet speak, lay down, come, find toy, and get back. I need to practice my on-leash skills. I am compatible with children and adults, as well as small dogs. I am not fond of other large dogs or cats. I don't bark or make a lot of noise, unless I see a squirrel or am letting you know that need to use the bathroom. Some of my favorite things are playing ...     [Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Scout is a cuddly, beautiful malamute who is 8 years old, she loves hiking, taking runs, and spending time in the mountains. She chases her tail, and gives kisses, as well as some other tricks. She is a very healthy girl who needs a home without little kids, no other dogs, and a companion who can devote some time to her. She can be around kids and handled it quite well. However she must be supervised while kids are around, especially if they are smaller than her. She is not very vocal, only when she is hungry. She likes chin scratches in the mornings.

Alaskan Malamute Dogs can make good pets in Colorado if they match your IifestyIe. The Alaskan Malamute is an extremely friendly, large breed. Alaskan Malamutes are wonderful with older children. Alaskan Malamutes like to roam outside and need a large yard or acreage. Fences should be high with a buried base, since Alaskan Malamutes like to dig and can get out easily. The Alaskan Malamute is rowdy as a puppy but calms down as an adult dog. Human companionship is important as Alaskan Malamutes can get into trouble and ruin property if not given enough attention. Alaskan Malamutes need to be socialized with children and other dogs at an early age. Alaskan Malamutes, especially males, can be very dominant and may fight with other dogs if not exposed to them when young.
