Alaskan Malamute Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Two Malamute/Husky mix. They are brothers and a bonded pair. A little over three years old. Absolutely great, beautiful dogs, but too much for our household. We rescued them when they were 3 months old from a friend. They have been difficult to train because they are extremely afraid of being separated, even by a few feet. Have been since they were little. They are great with our 3 kids (8, 5 &1) but high energy due to never enough walking and running. We don't have a fenced in yard and I just don't have the time to walk them enough. They love to play hard and rough with each other. They do listen and have been off leash in our yard many ... (Read More)times I just don't feel comfortable doing it and wouldn't want anything to happen to them. Our 1000 sq foot house is just not enough for two 100+ pound dogs and 3 kids. Plus each kid weighs much less than the dog and I worry about the baby getting trampled. They love the baby and the baby loves them so its been painful keeping them away from each other unless I do nothing but watch them but housework doesn't do itself :( Would love to find the right home for them where they can run around in the yard and get all their exercise because they truly are great dogs. They are so good that I usually give them a bath together in our tub. I will be adding a picture later. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting an Alaskan Malamute in New Jersey
Alaskan Malamute Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Alaskan Malamute is an extremely friendly, large breed. Alaskan Malamutes are wonderful with older children. Alaskan Malamutes like to roam outside and need a large yard or acreage. Fences should be high with a buried base, since Alaskan Malamutes like to dig and can get out easily. The Alaskan Malamute is rowdy as a puppy but calms down as an adult dog. Human companionship is important as Alaskan Malamutes can get into trouble and ruin property if not given enough attention. Alaskan Malamutes need to be socialized with children and other dogs at an early age. Alaskan Malamutes, especially males, can be very dominant and may fight with other dogs if not exposed to them when young.
